Student Teachers Dialogue at Bara Gali Campus September 16 -19, 2018

A Student Teachers Dialogue was organised by Media Training and Research Centre (MTRC) with collaboration of the department of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Peshawar from September 16 -19, 2018 at Bara Gali Campus. The Dialogue sponsored by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) aimed to engage university students, young teachers, and experts. The activity included student-teacher group works, experts lectures, question-answers and open discussions on the broad themes including issues of youth, their world view, intolerance and extremism, role of governance in realizing opportunities for youth.

The dialogue is a continuum and integrated insights gained from an earlier activity “Dialogue: Life at Campus” in 2017 to discuss and identify the reasons behind the radicalization of students of three universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province.

The Dialogue was attended by university students and young teachers from diverse faculties, professors, academics, and senior journalists. Prof. Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak of the Department of English and Applied Linguistics University of Peshawar and Prof. Dr. Faiz Ullah Jan of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication University of Peshawar led three different session, whereas Mr. Aoun Sahi, Bureau Chief Channel 24 Islamabad and Mr Sabookh Syed Editor and Research Coordinator, University of Virginia USA held special lectures. The event was graced by a special lecture from Prof. Dr Qibla Ayaz Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology.
